Buakaw Por Pramuk vs John Wayne - K1 2004
John Wayne is a very smart fighter and on top of that, very modest in his achievements. His skill is undoubtedly comparable to that of Buakaw, perhaps less advantaged only in terms of speed. The match between Buakaw and JWP reminds me of when John Wayne fought with Yodsaenklai in Sydney, Australia and lost his WBC Muay Thai Championship title. Yodsaenklai is speculated by many to be an excellent matchup to current K1 Max Champion, Buakaw, though this has yet to materialize. John Wayne definitely has alot more to work on to compete with these fellow Thais.

This time round, Masato concentrated more on punches, giving him a slight advantage over Baukaw's powerful kicks. The end result was victory to the blue corner.
